Beck Bennett was born in Wilmette, Illinois, just a few miles outside of the city of Chicago. He grew interested in comedy and acting, performing at the Children's Theatre in Winnetka. He graduated from New Trier High School in 2003 and would study acting at USC's School of Dramatic Acts. Shortly after graduating, he would make his big break into the world of comedy.
Bennett would join Commedus Interruptus alongside notable SNL cast members like Kyle Mooney and Nick Rutherford. They would also create the sketch group, Good Neighbor, with editor and director Dave McCary. Bennett would also make a satirical political talk show, Fresh Perspectives, featured in Kill Me Now in 2012. In 2013, Bennett would attempt to produce a pilot with Good Neighbors for Comedy Central, but SNL would instead pick him up alongside his coworkers.
Bennett was featured on Saturday Night Live’s 29th season opener and was promoted to repertory status for the 41st season. He would leave the show in May of 2012, but he has been known for his celebrity impressions. Over the years, he has been individuals like Simon Cowell, Ted Crus, Elton John, Mike Pence, Kevin O’Leary, and George Zimmer.
