Vir Das is an Indian comedian, actor, and comedy musician. He began a career in stand-up comedy, but he would move into Hindi cinema. Das would star in films like Delhi Belly, Badmaash Company, and Go Goas Gone in supporting roles. He would also act in the Netflix special, Abroad Understanding. Over the course of his career, he has performed in 35 plays, 18 films, eight TV shows, and six comedy specials.
Vir Das is not only a comedian, but also a writer. He has worked on numerous projects including writing for Femina, Maxim, Exotica, DNA, and Tehelka. He would make his acting debut in American television in Whiskey Cavalier. Vir Das would live between Nigeria and India as a child, but he would go to Galesburg, Illinois at Knox College. From there, he would attend Harvard University’s and Moscow Arts Theatre program for their Stanislavsky Program.
In his personal life, Vir Das began dating his girlfriend, Shivani Mathur, in 2009. They tied the know in October of 2014. Vir Das has been in dozens of projects. His most recent projects have been guest starring on Fresh Off the Boat as DC, Koffee with Karan as himself for the Koffee Awards in 2019, and on his Netflix special, Vir Das: Inside Out and Vir Das: Outside In.
