Kevin Hart was born in Philadelphia and raised by his single mother.He would eventually attend Community College of Philadelphia before he dropped out and moved to New York City. From there, he would move to Brockton, Massachusetts, where he would work as a shoe salesman. He would begin his career in stand-up after he performed at The Laff House under the name Lil Kev, but it was not well received.
Despite his attempt at initial shows, he would have to find a unique style. Kevin Hart would begin to share stories about his insecurities and life experiences, and he found more reception from those around him. He would start doing comedy tours in 2009 with his act titled I’m a Grown Little Man. He would also perform Seriously Funny in 2010, Laugh at My Pain in 2011, and Let Me Explain in 2013.
In the early 2010s, Kevin would also begin to earn recognition in film and TV roles. He would make his film debut in Paper Soldiers. He would also join the Scary Movie franchise and Death at a Funeral. In addition, he would star in The Five-Year Engagement and Think Like a Man. Ride Along is one of his most successful movies to date, and he starred alongside Ice Cube. In addition, he founded Laugh Out Loud in 2017 to help recruit and showcase top comedic talent worldwide.
