Aasif Mandvi is a British-American actor and comedian born in Mumbai, India. Growing up, he would spend most of his time in England. However, when he was sixteen, he would eventually move to Tampa, Florida, due to tensions from Thatcher's handling of Britain's challenges. He would attend the University of South Florida to study Theatre, and he would also work as a performer for Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World.
After his time at Walt Disney World, he would move to New York City to begin auditioning for theatre productions. He would perform in off-Broadway shows and even be nominated for the Lucille Lortel Award for some of his performances on stage. His television debut would happen in Miami Vice, but he would also appear as a guest star in numerous shows.
Some of Mandvi’s most notable credits have been for Die Hard with a Vengeance, Spider-Man 2, The Proposal, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, The Internship, and numerous other films. Aasif has also done multiple voice-over projects and even published his memoir, No Land’s Man, discussing his journey into the entertainment industry and upbringing thus far.
