Stephen Colbert is an American writer, comedian, producer, political commentator, actor, and TV host. He is best known for hosting The Colbert Report from 2005 until 2014, when he would take over The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which he currently still hosts. Colbert wanted to become a dramatic actor but would take to comedy while studying in college at Northwestern University. He would become part of Second City Chicago, where he would work alongside other notable comedians before becoming involved in the industry more heavily.
In the early 2000s, he would work with The Daily Show, and it would gain him recognition as he would become a correspondent for the show. He would also work on The O’Reilly Factor while presenting caricatures of conservative individuals during his time on the show. He would also host the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2017.
