Zach Braff is an American actor and filmmaker that was born in New Jersey. He is most famous for his role as J. D. on Scrubs that was on the air from 2001-2010. He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and three Golden Globe Awards for the show. He also starred in numerous films including The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy, The Last Kiss, The Ex, and In Dubious Battle.
As an actor, Braff has also completed numerous projects as a voiceover actor, such as Chicken Little, Oz the Great and Powerful, and Bojack Horseman. As a director, he made his debut in Garden State, which he wrote and starred in. He also compiled the soundtrack album for the film. He shot the entire film in his home state and the film would receive positive praise from critics and over $35 million in the box office. Braff’s film has a cult following to this day.
For his directing, Zach Braff has won numerous awards including a Grammy for Best Soundtrack Album. His second film that he directed, Wish I Was Here, would debut in 2014 and it was partially funded by a kickstarter campaign. In his personal life, Zach Braff has his pilot’s license for flying a Cirrus SR20.
