∙ Nash left the group in 1968, joining American singer-songwriters David Crosby and Stephen Stills to form Crosby, Stills & Nash, one of the first supergroups.
∙ The 1969 hit ballad “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother”—featuring Elton John on piano—topped the UK singles chart in 1988 after being played in a major beer commercial.
∙ The Hollies received a 1995 Ivor Novello Award for their contributions to British music, and they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
