Sevgil Musayeva was born in Juma near Samarkand but would return to Crimea after the restrictions would be lifted from the Soviet Union. They would settle in the Crimean Oblast. As a student, she would study at the Kyiv University from 2004 to 2010, where she would earn her degree in journalism. She would also work for numerous business publications and journals during this time, getting her work out there and gaining experience in the industry.
In 2011 until 2013, she would work for the Forbes Ukraine division as a correspondent, until they would eventually be bought by Serhiy Kurchenko. She would continue to be an activist and create reports for their Facebook to spread the word about what was happening in her country. In 2014, she would launch Hubs, which would be a separate business news portal and she would make herself the chief-editor. She would continue to work with this project, even after the annexation of the Crimea region of the country by Russia.
Following 2014, she would become a founder in the internet project, Krym_SOS. She has remained the chief editor of the Ukrayinska Pravda, where she has continued to churn out content and inform the public of what is happening in the world. She was nominated as one of the Top 30 under 30 by the Kyiv Post. She is also listed as one of Time magazine’s top 100 most influential people in the world in 2022.
