Colorado-based electronic DJ, producer, and musician Trevor Christensen, known as Said the Sky, emerged in the mid-2010s with his buoyant, dance-oriented sound. Frequently collaborating with Illenium, he gained recognition through popular EPs and singles before releasing his 2018 debut album, Wide-Eyed, which featured the hit “All I Got.” In 2022, he followed up with his second album, Sentiment.
Born in Denver in 1993, Christensen began studying piano at eight and later played various instruments in school. His interest in electronic music sparked during high school after taking a digital audio production course. He further developed his skills at Berklee College of Music before launching his career under the Said the Sky moniker in 2014. That year, he signed with Phase Management and released his debut EP, Faith, featuring singles like “Disciple” and “Everything.” He continued to release singles in 2015, collaborating with artists such as Illenium, Mimi Page, and Missio. His sophomore EP, Painted White, arrived in 2016, alongside collaborations with Illenium and Seven Lions on “Ares.” He later joined Illenium on tour and featured on the DJ’s 2017 track “Where’d You Go.”
Said the Sky’s Wide-Eyed, released in July 2018 via Seeking Blue, included collaborations with Vancouver Sleep Clinic and Jack Newsome. Over the next few years, he worked with Slander and JT Roach on 2019’s “Potions” and appeared on Illenium’s 2020 hit “Good Things Fall Apart vs. Sad Songs.” Continuing to evolve, he dropped singles like 2021’s “Treading Water” and “Go on Then, Love” before releasing Sentiment in February 2022.
