Karlie Kloss was born in Chicago, and the family lived in St. Louis and New York during her childhood years. When she moved to Goshen, New York, she would begin her modeling career. She was trained in classical ballet, which she says helped her prepare for walking on the runway.In 2006, she posed for a cover for Scene Magazine in Chicago and was signed by Elite Model Management in New York.
During the 2008 New York Fashion Week, she walked on 31 runways. Over the years, she has been featured in dozens of ads, including promotions for Rebecca Taylor, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci, Chloé, Topshop, Uniqlo, Adidas, American Eagle, and Victoria's Secret PINK. She's also walked runways for dozens of designers between New York, Milan, Paris, and other major global cities.
Karlie Kloss was also featured in Taylor Swift’s music video for “Bad Blood” in 2015, around the same time when she would attend New York University. She enrolled in the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, and it was the primary reason she would resign as a Victoria's Secret Angel after she began schooling. Kloss is now the host of the reality competition show Project Runway, and she is married to Joshua Kushner, the brother of Jared Kushner.
