Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and now based in Colorado, Gregory Alan Isakov is a horticulturist-turned-musician who has made a lasting impact on indie-rock and folk. With six acclaimed studio albums, including Evening Machines (Grammy-nominated for Best Folk Album) and Appaloosa Bones, he tours internationally and has performed with national symphony orchestras. MOJO praises his music as “elegant and shimmering,” while No Depression calls it “utterly evocative.” Offstage, he runs Starling Farm in Boulder County, supplying fresh produce to CSA members, restaurants, and a local food bank.
