Goth Babe is an indie-pop band formed by Griffin Washburn in 2015 in Nashville. The band name was inspired by "Goth Babe" by Surf Curse. The band came to fruition while Griffin Washburn was writing songs in his dorm room. In 2016, he would eventually move into twelve live shows in the city. Then he would leap and move to the West Coast in 2017.
Goth Babe would travel around California and Oregon in his camper truck, leading a simple but fun lifestyle with his dog, Sadie. He would surf, climb, and write music out of his camper. Many of these songs would have music videos that would feature the landscapes he frequented, including Mt. Hood and parts of the coastline in Oregon. Since 2017, he has primarily performed on the West Coast for select venues and audiences.
His style is known as being happy and fun. Goth Babe is about being “raw” and even having a garage sound. He primarily records alongside his guitar and keyboard, focusing on simple but fun music that people can enjoy together. His latest album, Mt. Bachelor, was released in 2020. To this day, he produces his music under Goth Babe LLC.
