In 2015, 20 years after Jerry Garcia's death, Dead & Company extended the Grateful Dead's legacy. Led by Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, and joined by John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti, the band toured the classic Dead repertoire. Mayer handled most of Garcia’s parts, bringing his own style to the role. They played their first show on Halloween 2015 and continued to tour into the 2020s. True to the Dead's tradition, they focused on live performances, sharing multiple concerts online but releasing no studio recordings.
