Ari Shapiro is an American radio journalist who has been involved in the industry since 2001. He previously attended Yale University for his undergraduate, and he has become one of the most recognizable radio hosts in America. His NPR career would begin as an intern with the legal affairs department under Nina Totenberg. He would also work as the editorial assistant and the assistant editor of the Morning Edition.
In 2010, he would begin to cover the White House correspondence for NPR. He would also work for NPR in London in 2014. In 2015, it would be announced that he would join as the host of NPR's All Things Considered as two of the four rotating hosts for the show. He is also a regular guest singer in the band Pink Martini. He has performed live with the band in numerous locations around the world.
Shapiro has been awarded numerous accolades for his efforts in journalism, including the American Bar Association's Silver Gavel Award, the Daniel Schorr Journalism Award, and the American Judges Association's American Gavel Award. He was also the first NPR reporter to be promoted to correspondent before thirty. He is married to Michael Gottlieb and has been since 2004.
