A-Trak, a.k.a. Alain Macklovitch, is a cultural connector whose 25-year career spans DJing, turntablism, filmmaking, and music production. A former physics student at McGill, he won the 1997 DMC World DJ Championship at 15, becoming a masterful scratch DJ. He later co-founded Fool’s Gold Records, launching artists like Run the Jewels and Danny Brown. As half of Duck Sauce with Armand Van Helden, he earned a Grammy nod for “Barbra Streisand.” A-Trak’s work shaped EDM and hip-hop, including his role as Kanye West’s longtime tour DJ.
