Sheryl Crow, the nine-time Grammy-winning songwriter, activist, and rock star, embodies a creative spirit that resonates through her music. From her first Grammy-winning hit "All I Wanna Do" to the critically acclaimed album THREADS, Crow's career spans 25 years, selling 35 million copies worldwide. Her influence extends to a new generation of artists like Phoebe Bridgers and H.E.R. A documentary film, "Sheryl," chronicles her musical journey, battling sexism, ageism, depression, cancer, and fame's toll. Beyond music, Crow passionately supports charities, including The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Feeding America, aiming to inspire positive change.
This wil override what's currently in our descriptors. Let's say if we wanted to write:
Sheryl can do a full band show for $600k or a pared-down duo for $500k. What would be more appropriate for the energy of the event and the space? Her full band is around six people on stage and we would need a stage to accommodate that of course.
When Sara Bareilles’ 2007 hit “Love Song” topped the charts, fans who’d watched her perform in L.A. wondered, “What took so long?” Born in Eureka, CA in 1979, Bareilles developed her talents in choir and local theater before graduating from UCLA. Her 2004 debut, Careful Confessions, led to Little Voice in 2007, which earned her multiple Grammy nominations. With a career marked by passionate vocals and heartfelt songwriting, she scored further hits, wrote for Broadway’s Waitress, and won her first Grammy in 2020 for “Saint Honesty.”
The Killers dropped English synth-pop down into their glitzy, scuzzy Las Vegas world, and a familiar sound became brand new. The group launched in 2001, when frontman Brandon Flowers—then working in casinos—answered a classified ad from guitarist Dave Keuning; they wrote their breakout single, “Mr. Brightside,” at their first meeting. Rounded out by drummer Ronnie Vannucci and bassist Mark Stoermer, they rose to popularity with 2004’s glammy, post-punk Hot Fuss, its single "Somebody Told Me" a cheeky summary of a million conversations in the clubs. While initially seeming like a flashier counterpart to the dourness of The Strokes and Interpol, The Killers traded synthesizers for more guitars in the early 2000s, introducing a new sound akin to U2 and Springsteen on albums like 2006’s Sam’s Town and 2017’s Wonderful Wonderful. They do believe in love and rock, but they seem to feel a little sheepish about it as they get ready to go out. They returned in 2020 with their sixth album, Imploding the Mirage, and the Lindsey Buckingham-assisted single “Caution.” The song serves as both a return to roots and a mission statement for their future, as Flowers told Apple Music that it reminded The Killers of a universal truth: "Rock 'n' roll can be transcendent.”
Chris Martin is an English singer-songwriter best known for his work with Coldplay, the famous British band. He is the lead vocalist, pianist, guitarist, and the co-founder of the band. He would form the band with his classmates, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion. He would help them to create songs like “Yellow”. Throughout his career, he has won seven Grammy Awards and nine Brit Awards as part of the band.
Chris Martin specifically has also done some solo work of his, working with collaborations such as Ron Sexsmith, Faultline, the Streets, and others. He would also collaborate with Nelly Furtado on her track, “All Good Things (Come to an End)” in 2006. He would also collaborate with Jay-Z on Kingdom Come. He has worked with numerous individuals, making himself a notable household name even beyond the work that he has done with Coldplay for nearly three decades already. Chris Martin is one of the most talented and experienced in the music world, and he continues to impress audiences globally even now.
More recently with Coldplay, Chris Martin and his bandmates released Music of Spheres and they are currently on tour for their latest album. In 2022, Chris Martin has also been listed as the co-writer for the Chainsmokers song, “Riptide”.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin once joked that the two biggest challenges in his life were trying to follow Radiohead and trying to follow Brad Pitt. The Pitt reference was personal, of course—Martin had been married to Pitt’s former fiancée Gwyneth Paltrow—but his self-assessment still felt remarkably apt: Coldplay isn’t just one of the most popular bands in the world, but also torchbearers for a kind of mainstream art-rock whose roots reach back through Radiohead, U2, Pink Floyd, and even The Beatles. Yes, the music is anthemic enough to fill arenas—“Clocks,” “Speed of Sound,” “Paradise,” “A Sky Full of Stars”—but detailed and atmospheric, too, stretching the conventions of modern rock without ever losing the emotional thread.
Formed in London in the mid-’90s, the band debuted with 2000’s Parachutes. Seasons have changed—the arty experiments of 2008’s Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, the electro-rush of 2011’s Mylo Xyloto, the eclecticism of 2019’s Everyday Life—but the core of their sound has been consistent: Propulsive, uplifting, grand but vulnerable. In crowded bars and lonely bedrooms, the effect is more or less the same: At the end of the day, Coldplay came for the heart.
